Please join us again at our monthly social gathering at Louis’ Lounge at Mory’s on Wednesday, February 11, from 5:30-7:30 PM.
Join local Yale alumni, students, and community members for another Gathering at Mory’s, an evening of socializing, networking, and learning from our special guest, Rachel Fine, the Executive Director of Yale’s Schwarzman Center.
As always, your first drink (wine, beer, soft drink) and munchies are compliments of the Yale Club of New Haven.
Rachel Fine joined Yale Schwarzman Center as Executive Director in October 2022, shortly before the Center opened to the public. Previously, she served as Executive Director and CEO of the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Los Angeles (2015–2022), where she established The Wallis as a leading cultural institution, launched a $55 million campaign, built major artistic partnerships, and guided the organization through the pandemic. Fine has also held executive leadership roles at the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra and the Los Angeles Children’s Chorus, and has worked with the DeVos Institute of Arts Management, Aspen Music Festival, Santa Fe Opera, and The Juilliard School. A concert pianist, she holds degrees from UC Irvine (Phi Beta Kappa), Yale University, and Eastman School of Music, and has been recognized with the Distinguished Alumna Award from UC Irvine’s Claire Trevor School of the Arts.
Fine is married to Christopher Hawthorne, formerly the chief design officer for the City of Los Angeles and architecture critic for the Los Angeles Times. Hawthorne teaches courses in journalism, criticism, and urban design at Yale College and the Yale School of Architecture and writes frequently for distinguished publications including The New York Times and The New Yorker. Fine and Hawthorne have two daughters and live happily in New Haven, CT.
Please register for free on EventBrite by February 8 so we can provide Mory’s with numbers.
